MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
POLICE AND CIVIL BUSINESS. Police cases at yesterday’s sitting of the Magistrate’s Court were taken by Mr D. G. A. Cooper, S.M. For insobriety, William Williams was fined 20s, or three days’ detention; James Seeroy 10s, or forty-eight hours. Samuel Hunter, charged with drunkenness, iv a a remanded for a week for curative treatment in gaol. UNDEFENDED CIVIL CASES. Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., gave judgment for plaintiff by default, with costs, in the following undefended civil cases:—Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Company, Ltd. v. Frederick W. Eure,' £3O 13s 2d, costs £2 14s: Edward Collie, Ltd. v. Frank Wilson, £3 Ss 3d, costs 13s; William Mnlhane v. John Wheeler, £lO 2s, costs £1 10s 6d: H. Johnson v. Arthur James Gpylor, £3; costs 10s; J. G. Raine and Co. v. Thomas Leoto, £1.3 14s 6d, costs £1 10s 6d; Charles Bepg and Co-. Ltd. v. James McNeo, £52 (is Bd, costs £3 16s; Stewart Timber, Glass. . and Hardware Co., Ltd. v. John Marshall, junr., 9s Ocl, costs 11s; Graham and Co. v. Rowland Joseph Denniston Newman Potts. £3 6s, costs 15s. On a judgment summons. Whakarao Kotua was ordered to pay the Dominion Clothing Company the sum of £l4 14s 6d by May 25th. or spend fourteen days in gaol.
