It appears that .Shaw, .Walsh, and Hillman, a party of rabbiters, camped in the bush. Hillman went to the township and bought whisky. The following' day Hillman and Walsh were walking towards the tent when Shaw appeared with a gun, and fired and wounded both. Walsh died, and Hillman's life was ■ saved, hut he became insane.
