Last Saturday and Thursday the St. John's cburts, Wanganui, wcfe thronged with eager and v as the season is going on a great improvement is visible in the standard of play, especiallv amongst the juniors. Miss Healey and Miss More, attended ,to the afternoon tea on Thursday last,. whilst Miser I. McDonald and Miss Smart attended on. Saturday. A number, of ladder matches have been played recently, amongst them being the following: —L. Lonieson beat L. Billows. J. Norrie beat B. Springer, J- Cardwell beat Brown, W. Lampa beat F. Wagstaff, Eev. Eadford beat W. Worsop, Miss Scrivener beat Miss TTeva.bh.ic by default, 8.. Smart' boat Caseley by default. Great competition exists between, the members for positions on the ladder, and some very even gam-es have taken place. The einth court is now playable, aad the oommittee hope to have the seventh towards the end of this week.
