HOCKEY

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. •

The management committee of the Wellington Hockey Association met last evening, Mr C. Oathie being' in the chair. There were also present: Messrs TV. G. Morpeth, W. Richards, A. A. Bennett (secretary), Strack, and H. McGregor. The Wednesday Association reported that at its last meeting Mr F. H. Mclieever was elected to fill the ‘position of delegate to the controlling body, vice Mr C. Clementson resigned. ' The Government Insurance Club intimated that Messrs A. ,F. Robbie and H. J. Hunter had been appointed its delegates to the association, vice Messrs Cameron and. Cleave, resigned. The resignation of Mr H. Cameron from the association owing to his leaving for Christchurch was accepted with regret, appreciative reference b&ing made to the services Mr Cameron had rendered to the association. The offer of the Auckland Hockey Association to play the Wellington Association on September 19th was accepted. In reply to a letter from the Marlborough Association, it was decided, if possible, to send a B team to Marlborough while the A touring team is away. To an application from the Canterbury Association for a junior eleven Ix> meet Canterbury at Christchurch, it was decided to reply that a team will probably go south. With regard to outstanding fees (£52 12s), a promise of payment was received from all clubs with the exception of Pirates.

The Karori Club wrote notifying the association that it could not fulfil its junior fixture at Hutt to-day, owing to members leaving off work too late to catch the train.

All fixtures for August Ist were postponed on account of the ladies’ representative match with the AU-Eng-land women’s touring team.

Accounts amounting to £4 16s 3d were passed for payment.
