The English Jockey Club announces that the saliva of the horse Redfinoh did not show “doping.” The stewards tested it because of the horse’s unusual excitement before and after the race. The stewards announce that they will occasionally examine the saliva of horses, in order to satisfy themselves that rule 176 is being observed. They will not publish the results unless they discover that drugs have been administered. [At. the Newmarket meeting, on the 16th inst., the three-yea.r-old Bedfinch (Your Majesty-—Frengilla) won the Soham Plate (V/elter Handicap) in a canter by four lengths. He had not won a race previously this season. The stewards immediately detained the horse, and ordered samples of his saliva to be taken. The stewards stated that it was not intended to cast any slur on Mr Edward Martin, the trainer, despite the odds on the horse.]
