Press Association. WESTPORT, July 11. Buller played its first representative match of tho season to-day, defeating Inangahua by 34 points to nil. Green, who was picked for the. All Black tour of Australia, but was unable to make the trip, was in great form, most of the tries coming from passing rushes initiated by him. The’ground was in a very greasy state, but tile Buller backs bandied th« ball well and the ftrivards played with great dash, breaking through the opposing division pud giving the Inangahua backs very little chance to get moving. MATCHES ELSEWHERE. Press Association. . PALMERSTON, July 11. Rugby senior matches resulted: United (6) beat Feilding (o); Oriental (6) beat Western (nil). The latter game was abandoned at half-time. AUCKLAND, July 12. The results of Saturday’s Rugby matches are as follows:—University beat Ponsonby by 14 points to nil; City beat College Rifles by 16 points to 8. University has finished its matches, and must finish at least equal with City, ■which has yet one fairly hard match to play. The championship points are: University, played ■ 9 matches, 14 points; City, ‘8 matches, 12 points; Ponsonby, 8 matches, 9 points; Marist Bros., 8 matches, 7 points; College Rifles, 8 matches, 4 points. CHRISTCHURCH, July 11. Rugby results:—'Varsity (6) drew' with,Albion (6); Sydenham (12) beat Marists’ (11); Christchurch (9) beat Merivalo (6); Old Boys (6) beat Linwood (3), DUNEDIN, July 11. Football matches were played to-day under splendid conditions. University (15 points) beat Zingari-Richmond (10); Southern (6) beat Dunedin (3); Port Chalmers (4) beat Alhambra (3); Union (8) beat Pirates (8).
