SOLDIERS’ UNIFORMS

COLOUR, CONFIDENCE, AND CAPACITY. By Tclezrapb—Press Association—Copyriplu “Times" and Sydney “Stm" Services. (Received July 10, .5.5 p.m.) PARIS, July 10. M. Messing, Minister for War, in explaining the new invisible blue-gray uniform, stated ’ that the old clothes were as visible at fifteen hundred yards as the new will be at 550. England first realised the danger of bright uniforms, and substituted khaki, while in the Balkan war the Bulgarians and Servians came to the same conclusion, giving their soldiers an uniform which strengthened their morale on the one hand and augmented their confidence and fighting capacity on the other.
