RAILWAY WANTED
FRANKTQN TO KAWHIA AND RAGLAN. ■ . ' Press Association. < HAMILTON. July 10. As a result of a preliminary meeting of local bodies in the Waikato, held kst night, a committee was set up to 1 promote the construction of a railway from Frankton to Kawhia and Raglan, on the West Coast, under the Railways Construction Land Act of last year, by which local bodies are given the same powers ea private companies and are also empowered to strike special rates for such a project. It was mentioned by one person present that £150,000 was available for the work. It was decided to oak the Premier, when cutting up the Moerangi block, to make provision for a railway route, and thru obviate excessive compensation claims,.
