DR EC McNAB’S CANDIDATURE,

Dr .Robert MeMab, the Liberal candidate tor the Havvko’s Bay seat at the coming elections, returned to Wellington last evening alter an eight-day trip in the electorate, fellow mg his nomination by tho Liberal Association of tho district for tho seat.

In answer to an inquiry by a “Times” representative by. Dr McNab said that ho was very well satisfied with his receptions by the members ol the association, which, had recently been formed with twelve branches. Amongst tho places ho had visited was Woirca, and ho had been fortunate in getting in and out without delay, thus allowing him to take tho platform every evening. Dr McNab speaks of tho Liberals of Hawke's Ray as having a good organisation—bettor than any organisation ho had found so far in Now Zealand in this early period of tho campaign. In tho ccuntiy <iis triote of the electorate ha found tin? feeling very strong for Sir Joseph Ward. Ho said that there was a possibility of his having a straight-out light with the sitting member, as all the other candidates spoken of, with the exception of Mr A. L. D. Fraser, had already formally withdrawn. He did not know wham Mr Fraser’s intentions Were; it was possible, of course, that he would bo a candidate. “In any case,” Dr McNab added, “1 feel sure that the election will be n keenly-fought one. with an entir>nbsenco of personal feeling on the part of the caudidaitea,”-
