A representative gathering of wine merchants and Mr Blow, a Government expert, met at the New Zealand Government Bureau to test samples of the 1909-10 vintage of light wines produced at the Government experimental vineyard at Waerenga. .
Mr Blow, in introducing the subject, said ho looked forward to the time when there would be reciprocity between Australia and New Zealand,, and wino would bo amongst the products covered.
Experts expressed the opinion that the wines were of good body, but capable of improvement as regards blending and linish. New Zealand, they said, should be an ideal champagne country. The trade could -be made successful by careful handling, and the selection of districts and vines. It will be interesting to test samples from other districts.
