PANAMA EXPOSITION
BRITAIN’S REFUSAL ASTONISHMENT THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. “AN UNEQUALLED ADVERTISEMENT.” By Telegraph-Press AoßoclaUon--Uopyrigii* "Times” and Sydney “Sun" Services. (Received May 22, 6.5 p.m.) LONDON, Hay 22. Tho ATee-Prosident of the Panama Exposition states that tho space has been over applied for. Ho has been reserving a site for Great Britain, but cannot reserve it indefinitely.
He says that the exposition will not ho affected financially in ' tho slightest degree by Great Britain’s decision. To be quite frank, the astonishment created throughout tho world by the British Government’s attitude has given the exposition an advertisement as unequalled as it was unexpected, for which the promoters were duly grateful. „
