MENACE OF THE TRUSTS.

HOW TO COMBAT IT IN NEW ZEALAND. Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 20. At a conference ot tho Provincial Farmers’ Union to-night it was resolved that tho Government should bo urged to watch carefully tho operations o* tho moat and other trusts in New Zealand. One member stated that the Meat Trust was at present established in Australia, and there was good reason to believe that it had come to Now Zealand. “ But thorp is no reason to foar the trust operating merely m trade,” ho added- “In fact, we want them. So long as they do not take over tho control of our freezing works no harm will bo done. Once they do that the country will bo in deadly danger. No legislation would remedy this state of affairs; the difficulty could be overcome only, by farmers themselves. Lot them be loyal to their own companies at any cost, and all would be well.”
