WORKMAN AWARDED 17s PER WEEK. Press Association. TIMARU, May 19. Mr Justice Stringer heard here today . a claim for compensation by a workman against a Waimate contractor. While working for defendant in May, 1913, removing a building, complainant suffered a fracture of the hip, through a wall being blown over on him. He had not recovered the use of his leg and his earning power had been reduced from 37s to 20s a week. Ho had received £27 compensation up to September.

The court made an order for 17s a week.
