MINISTER IN A KINDLY MOOD.

Press Association. FEILDING, May 14. The Hon. W. Fraser was welcomed yesterday by school children and the Chamber of Commerce at Apiti. In reply to deputations asking for a branch railway from Feilding, the Minister said he was agreeably surprised at the vast extent of country waiting for thorough development. He recognised that Until they had good railway communication it would he impossible to find profitable markets for produceAlthough he could not pledge the construction of a line, ho would undertake to liave a survey made for a light line of railway, and would try individually to obtain for them their heart’s desire.
