A case presenting sensational side features camo before the court to-day, when Leslie Lionel Grant, a youthful postal employee, Georjje Augustus E-nith, recently arrived from England with his invalid father, I l ’. Spencer, and A. Billings, a travelling showman, Wore charged with breaking and en-
tering premises by night. Tho house burgled was that of an officer in charge of tho Postal Savings Bank Department, who possessed the keys of tho strong-room, which contained a largo sura of money. Equipped with electric torches, the four visited tho official’s residence at midnight, entered his room by tho window and secured thirty shillings. They wore foiled in. an endeavour to secure tho keys.
Though one wore india-rubber shoos and another had bare feet, they made a noise, awakening tho occupants of tho room, who though alarmed, endeavoured to seize the robbers, who fled.
A surprising development of tho case was that" tho youthful participants planned tho burglary, and induced tho elder men to join them while the former pair burgled several ether premises and etolo money and valuables.
Tho accused pleaded guilty, and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
