CITIZENS’ CARNIVAL
RESULT, OF THE ART UNION DRAWING. A meeting ef the Carnival executive committee wa? held at the Town Hall last evening, the Mayor (Mr J. P. Luke) presiding over a fair attendance. Tho main business was to determine the expenditure of the Carnival fund and the drawing of the art union. It was resolved:—“That the unexpended money that has been lodged in the bank to the credit of the Carnival committee realised froin the carnival last year be handed over to the City Council to be spent on Central Park, together with the accrued interest.” A good many citizens attended the drawing Qf tho art union, which was carried out under the supervision of two police constables. Tbe result of the drawing is as follows; —lst prize, No. 16,670 ; 2nd, No. 10.701; 3rd, No. 17,130; 4th, No. 34,259 ; sth, No. 34.151; 6th, No 20,158; 7tb, No. 16,336.
