ORIGINAL STEAMER SERVICE REQUIRED., Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 12. A large number of importers and exporters interested in the Island trade waited upon. Mr Hcldsworth, managing director of the Union Steamship Company, and urged that the Original Island service be reverted to, or some other provision made , to safeguard Auckland’s commercial interests. The matter was thoroughly discussed, 'and Mr Holdsworth intimated that the present timetable would be continued for four or five months. If at the end of that time it was found that arrangements were acting detrimentally upon the business interests of Auckland, tho company would be prepared to again discuss the matter, with a view to giving consideration to the suggestion that a small steamer be commissioned specially for the Island trade. 1
