SENIOR COMPETITION. The senior .competition is fast drawing to a close, and though Artillery have every thing in their favour to carry off the laurels, the excitement and enthusiasm have not abated in the slightest. A fair crowd of spectators turned out to the Basin Reserve yesterday afternoon, when Union took th© field against Oriental and Rivals met Artillery. The play was of a good, brisk , nature, and left nothing to be desired from a spectator’s point of view. Union made 97 In their first innings, to which Oriental replied with 119 for the loss of eight wickets. Rivals made 137 in their first venture against Artillery, and when time was called the latter had lost two wickete for 81. UNION v. ORIENTAL.
