COMMERCIAL CABLES By Teleßraph—Press Association— CopyrlgUi (Received February 10, 11-5 a.m.) LONDON, February 10. WHEAT. Wheat is firm. There is a good demaud for Australian at slightly better pricee. Several cargoes have been gold) at 35s Gd to 35s 9d per quarter. SOUTHERN GRAIN AND PRODUCE, Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 10. Fine weather having again sec in harvesting operations have been resumed, consequently farmers are too busy to oome into town to ofler grain for sale. There is therefore practically nothing doing in the grain market. No further sales of wheat, oats, or barley are reported. The rain appears to have done but little damage to grain in North Canterbury, though some of the barley may hay© suffered discolouration. For this cereal 3s 7d appears to be top price at country stations for prime malting. At present very little grass seed has been offered. Sales have been made up to 2s Id at a country station, but this was for a very good line, and it has been bought as low as Is 7d. The potato market is still at a standstill, the opening price not haying been fixed. Farmers are holding back from making sales under the impression that so much damage has been done in North Otago and South Canterbury by blight. It has to be remembered, however, that the whole area affected will scarcely equal the increase in acreage in crop in the Dominion this season. LIVE STOCK SALES AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.
