TO-DAY’S MEETING. The American team of athletes, who have been specially invited to Now Zealand by the Amateur Athletic Association, will make their first appearance in Wellington to-day at Athletic Park, when a two-day mooting, under the auspices of the Wellington Athletic Association, will ho inaugurated. The Americans have already competed at a few meetings in New Zealand, and they should ho at about tho top of their form to-day. In tho sprint events G. L. Parker will have Duncan, Mark, Pool, and Mulvihill, of Auckland, against him, white in the quarter-mile J. Wilton and Mark will probably prove his most formidable opponents. 'They put up a good performance in the last New Zealand championship, finishing first and second respectively in this event. Keddcll will be seen out in the hurdles, and Templeton will have to show improved form to boat him. E. R. Caugbey will bo up against McHolm, tho New Zealand champion, in the weight-throwing events, and he will later give an exhibition of discus and javelin-throwing. Tho park is in good order, and the meeting should ho well patronised, for tho sport is sure to ho interesting.
