VOTING RELIEF FUNDS

AUCKLAND TRAMWAYMEN IN DILEMMA. Press Association. AUCKLAND. December 18. The tramwaymen at their meeting failed to find any solution of tho difficulty that has presented itself in connection with their proposal to donate £2OO from tho union funds to the assistance of the wives and children of strikers. A legal opinion was obtained to the effect that a donation of tho kind would bo illegal. The question is hardly a burning one with tho union, as there were only eighty-nine members at both meetings—less than onefifth of the total membership. Further meetings will be held on Tuesdaj- next to consider the position.
