Tho scholars- attending the Pbtona Catholic School held their annual picnic at Day’s Bay yesterday, the children and their parents (numbering over 150) being driven to tho Bay in motors. A sports programme was run off during the day, the results being : —Senior Boys’ Race —J. Chcsterman 1, G. Lacey 2, L. Ryder 3. Boys under nine years—H. Barlow 1, J. ,Gough 2, A. Brewer 3. Boys under seven years—A. Anderson 1, H. Foon 2, W. Roper 3. Kindergarten Race— J. Hill 1. W. Childs 2, D. Hill 3. Senior Girls’ Raco —A. Tancred 1, E. Linnehnn 2. Girls under eleven years— C. McCready 1, W. Stanford 2. E. Cates 3. Girls under seven years— Emma McGill 1, Mona Young 2. Isabel Senior 3. Married Women’s Race — Mrs Hodgkinson 1, Mrs E. Nicholas 2. A Wanganui Press Association telegram states that the weather, which had been very bad tor several days, had cleared up last night..
