A CHRISTMAS PARTY.
There Was such a merry party yesterday at the Y.W.C.A. Rooms in Herbert street, when more than 100 little children were entertained by Father Christmas and other willing helpers. So eager they wore, that long before tho appointed time the little guests arrived, and girl members of the association were kept busy amusing the little ones until tea time. the prettily arranged tables laden with good things were expressive of the time and forethought that had been expended in preparation. In the concert that followed, the small entertainers were Alarjorio Bennie and Bobbie Whvte, Doris Cocks, Anna Whyte, Alaisie Whyte. Alarjorio Bennie, and Kathleen Lonsdale. Then came the ever popular “Punch and Judy,” and it.was greeted with laughter, and such enjoyment that proved tho old time show still had the powet to amuse both young and old. The happy climax to this merry party came when the lights wore thrown on the laden Christmas' tree, and Father Christmas became tho centre of attraction, as in his genial, happy way ho distributed his numerous gifts, and then—oh, tho happy smiles on little faces; and, oh, the blowing of trumpets and whistles its- tho evening closed in true Christmasy atmosphere, and each child departed hugging a lovely doll, or waving an air-balloon and carrying tenderly in the other hand a packet of tea for mother. Before the close Sister Alicef expressed thanks on behalf of tho Alethodist Afission for the good time that had been afforded over 100 children from the centre of tho town by the willing service of tho Y.W.C.A. members who have learnt that the surest way of winning happiness is to make others happy.
