THE TYRONE

SALVAGE OPERATIONS. Press Association, DUNEDIN, October 2L The work of salving the cargo from tho Tyrone made satisfactory progress to-day, and gives promise of proving a remunerative venture to those concerned, who, it transpires, will receive 75 per cent, on all goods landed at Dunedin. Cairn weather prevailed during thtf greater part of the day, and the launch Moorangi was loaded with cargo, chiefly made up of whisky, but also comprising a quantity of cornflour and some general merchandise. Two motor-car chassis were hoisted out in their cases, and one was successfully towed ashore. The other sank inside Otago Hoads, but has been suspended on buoys, and will probably be landed to-day. Telephonic communication has been established with the vessel.
