HANDICAPPING HORSES

- To the Editor “N.Z. Times.” Sir, —1 road Mr Reid’s letter in this morning's “ Times.” I agree to what he says about tho handicaps also in reference to Waldemar. I think this horse was unduly heavily weighted, as ho has never done anything to warrant the weight, especially when you see good performers- and winners of important races below him in the weights. In comparison look at tho light weight that Kilrain has been let in at, which is sufficient to show this sterling performer has been absolutely pitch-forked into the handicap. I cannot quite understand what the handicappor was thinking about.—l am, etc., A. J. BILTON. Tinakori road, Wellington.
