Hiss Joan Hislop_has returned from Auckland, where sho has been visiting Mrs Colbeck.

Mrs Waddy, Blenheim, is one of tho visitors hero at present. Mrs Russell, Oamaru, is visiting friends in Wellington. Miss Burns, who has heen the guest of Mrs Scobio Mackenzie, has returned to Dunedin. Miss Nancy Wilson, of Bulls, is in Wellington just now. Mr and Miss Vavasour, Mr, Mrs, and Miss Grigg (of Christchurch), are guests at Government House. Mrs Dewes, Napier, is staying with Mrs J. P. Brandon, Tinakori road. A protty wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Napier, on Monday, when Miss Helen Evans, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. L. Evans, was married to Mr J. R. Tohill, of Dunedin. Tho brido was given away by her father, and was attended by her sister. Miss Rosie Evans. Mr and Mrs Tohill afterwards left for Wellington, en route for the South island. Misses Wilson (2), of Bulls, who have been on a holiday visit to Syduoy, returned to Wellington by the Ulimaroa yesterday. They were mot by Mr and Mrs J. G. WikoH, and at present they are guests at tho Oak. Miss Beotham arrived in .town last night from Masterton to join Mr and Mrs Beotham. They are guests at tho Oak. Misses Gray (2), Taratahi. and Miss HaJlatt, Whnganui, arc- visitors to Wellington. They are guest 6at tho Windsor. Mr and Miss Reid, of Marton, and Mr C. C. Osmond, of Masterton, are staying at the Empire. A pretty wedding was solemnised on Monday at All Saints', Palmerston North, by tho Rev! H. G. Rosher, M.A., the contracting parties being Mr E. G. Davidson, son of Mrs M. Davidson, Hastings street, Napier, and Miss Mabel G. Thorbum, secona daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Thorburn, Pascal street, Palmerston North. The bride, who was daintily attired in white silk with ninon overdress, was given away by her brother, Mr H. Thorburn. She was attended by her sister, Miss G. Thorburn, a.nd Miss J. Davidson, sister of the bridegroom, the former wearing a dress of white crope do cheno and tho latter white satin oharmeuse. The bridegroom was assisted by Mr C. Dixon as best man, and Mr K. Thorburn, brother of tho bride, as groomsman. The happy couple left by the Napier express, carrying with tihem the good wishes of a large circle of friends.
