DANCE IN BOULCOTT STREET

Last night Mrs Maxwell gave a dance in the Boaloott street Hall to celebrate the coming of age of her daughter Ruth. The little hall, which is the best of places for a small dance of this knd, looked extremdy well with its trimming of small flags and pennants hung across the ceiling and bunches of greenery on the walls. The lamps were shaded in red, and lycopodium trailed over everything, shades and walls and ceiling. One end of the room had been carpeted and decorated with palms for those sitting out. Supper was served in the cosy roo-n upstairs. It was a most delectable supper, and the table was decorated with wide red ribbons crossed in the centre, where stood a vase of red and pink carnations, while at each corner was a smaller vase of red and pink may. Mrs Maxwell received her guests in a gown of ulue satin, veiled in black ninon embroidered in silk, the coinage outlined with diamante trimming. Miss Maxwell wore pale blue charmeuse, with an overdress of white lace, her pretty blue kid shoes were outlined in gold, and she wore a diamond pendant, and two diamante bands finished with an osprey were in her hair. Among the guests were:— Mrs Wemyes, in black jetted lace, with touches of gold; Mrs Baillie, in cream satin and lace; Mrs Crouch, in cream charmeuse; Mrs J aggers, in blue, with crystal embroidery and fringe; Mrs Grant, in jetted lace over white satin, with gold and jet fringe; Miss Gilbert, in black velvet; Miss Packer, in cream; Miss Watson, in white crepe de chene; Miss McLean, in cream satin and ninon; Miss Moyes. in cerise satin, with tunic of blue chiffon; Miss Baker, in cream; Miss Collins, also in cream; Miss Chambers. in black velvet and white lace; Miss Colman, in green satin; Miss i.
