BREACH OF LICENSING LAW

TWO BARMAIDS FINED. Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 16. The serving of Norman J. Walsh, seventeen years of age, with liquor resulted in two barmaids, Marion Abbott, Thames Hotel, and Millie Hunter, Star Hotel, being fined £2 each and costs. It was contended in each case that Walsh appeared more than twenty-one. The cases against the respecxive licensees were dismissed, Mr E. C. Cutten, S.M., holding that as the licensee had not delegated authority to anyone else, and as the sale was against his express instructions and without his knowledge, there was no liability.
