ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 24. The body of Henry Biggs, a married man, aged forty-six, was found beside the railway track at New Lynn yesterday. It was clear of the rails, and had not been touched by trains. The man had probably fallen off the 11 o’clock train on Saturday night,_ and had been dead some hours when picked up. DUNEDIN, February 24. The Balclntha police report that George Kirk, an old-age pensioner, aged 92 years, was burnt to death at Pnerna some time between Thursday night and Sunday afternoon. Apparently he lived alone. The police at North East yalley received intimation this morning of a case of drowning in a small creek in that district. Phyllis Margaret Olive Boucher, aged one year and nine months, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ernest Boucher, was playing by herself in a yard at the rear of the house, and, being missed _ after a while, her mother and aunt a search, finding tho body of the child in tho creek, a little distance from the house.
