The Manawatu county asked the borough’s 00-operation in obtaining leave to connect the tram line with the State lino at Marton. The Mayor (Mr R. E. Beckett) stated -(hat he intended to moot the Minister. He thought that topographically Marton was tho best place te make the connection. He thought it would also be much more convenient, with all the express trains connecting at Marton, and would save transferring passengers and luggage from Grcatford to Marton.
