FIRES

OUTBREAK IN A HOTEL. Just after midnight the lire Brigade •was summoned to tho Cricketer's Anns Hotel, at tho comer of Vivian and Tory streets, where an outbreak of fire had been' discovered in a eittingroom. Tho brigade had the flames quickly subdued, but considerable damage resulted to the rear of the premises and tho contents. The hotel had twelve occupants, including emo boarder. The fire was discovered by Mr Jeremiah Foley, ton of the licensee. The cause of tho outbreak is unknown. The building is insured in the Atlas office for £I7OO and the contents in. the same office for £4OO.
