THE OBSERVATORY
The new observatory at Kelburne, though aa yet unfurnished and lighted only by lamp or candle, is now in working order, and will, for the present or until further notice, be open for members, if the weather is astronomically favorable, every Tuesday evening beginning with October 22na. Members of the council wail be in charge on these occasions from 7.30 to 9,30 p.m. On the first and third Tuesday in each month a limited number of tickets at Is each will be available for non-members. These tickets may be obtained from the president. Sir C. P. Powles. The observatory may be opened for members on other nights if arrangements are made beforehand with a member of the council. Any member, with practical experience, who has heed approved by the council may obtain a private key for an annual rental of se. Funds are also urgently required for furnishing and lighting the building, for making a track to it, # and for numerous accessories for the instrument. Further donations will therefore be very welcome. ‘
