UNIFYING ORGANISATIONS IN BRITAIN. LONDON, August 4. Following on the disbanding of the strike committee a movement is being started to unite all the transport workers in one union.
King George has contributed £SOO and Queen Mary £IOO to the women’s children’s fund in connection with the dock strike.
The Archbishop of Westminster, speaking a+ the Catholic Cpngresa at Norwich, said the Catholic Church never hesitated to encourage trade unionism, but no labor struggle could abolish the Ten Commandments. The men had to recognise the employers’ rights. These had been opposed, but they did not thereby cease to exist.
