UNION’S DECISIVE VOTING. SPECIAL TO THE “TIMES." AUCKLAND, August 5. The annual election of officers of the Karaiigahuke branch of the Thames Miners' Union took place on Saturday. It was attended by an unusual amount of interest, the contest resolving itself into a trial of strength between the supporters of arbitration on tho one side and of tho Federation of Labor on tho other. Both sections had nominated full tickets. The result proved to be a complete victory for the supporters of arbitration, not a single member of the opposing ticket being returned.
