HOCKET ASSOCIATION' JOINS THE LEAGUE. SPECIAL TO THE "TIMES.” CHTUSTOHUBOH, July 30. At a. meeting of the council of the New Zealand Hockey Association the question of affiliating with the Sports Protection League was discussed. The chairman (Sir E. Nordon) moved that the association should affiliate with 'he league. He said that the general committee had gone into the matter thoroughly and it was In favor of the proposal, but had dec'ded to submit the question to the whole council. The league had not been treated fairly by Its opponents, who said it was promoted simply to protect the totalisator. This was not true, as it was formed to guard the interests of all sports. After some discussion, the resolution was carried by 11 votes to 5.
