Homig. •In view of the bad condition of grounds at the Hutt it was decided to transfer the Oriental-Victoria match to Polo No. 2, and the Waiwetu-Old Boys fourth-class fixture from Young’s ground to Sharpe’s No. 2. Olubs are requested to watch the papers for possible alterations to fixtures. After some discussion the committee resolved to postpone all matches on Saturday week, the date of the North v. The general feeling of the committee was that it should do all possible in supporting the New Zealand Union, which was doing its best to foster football in the country districts, .

Tho secretary of the Wairarapa Union notified that the Wairarapa juniors would arrive in Wellington on Saturday morning. He suggested, and it was decided that Mr F. 0. Atkinson should referee in the match, which will take place on No. 2 ground, Athletic Park.

HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION. At a meeting of the management committee of the florowhenua Rugby Union, held at Levin yesterday, it was decided to play another trial match North v. South juniors, at Levin, on Saturday, in view of. a probable junior representative match against Wellington at an early date. The secretary of the Shannon- Club (Mr Graham) wrote claiming the match that was to have been played with Tainui on Saturday. He said that Tainui had evidently avoided Saturday’s match to suit their own purposes. The chairman: Do you think Shannon wonld have the match replayed at

Shannon ? Mr 'White (Shannon) replied in the negative, but promised to rediscuss the matter with the players. Mr Karauti: It it is not replayed, it means football is over in the union for this season.

Two players, Aperahaina (Shannon) and TNinhana (U'craroa) were cautioned for " scragging ’’ in the junior match Shannon v. Ueraroa.

At this meeting Messrs J. G. Hankins and it. Smith (of Horowhenua) wore present. .Mr J. Proctor, chairman of the latter union, was unable to be present, and at yesterday’s meeting he said that he had sent word to say lie was ill, and asking for the meeting to bo postponed. It was clearly understood that the Wellington Union would be asked to play the combined unions a match at Palmerston North in order to reimburse both the Horowhenua and Manawatu Unions for expenses (£ls each) that would be incurred m the visit of those unions to Taranaki. The chairman (Mr J. Proctor) held that tho meeting at Palmerston North was informal, and said that Manawatu had informed him that the £l-5 had “gone for over.' He opposed spending £ls unless there was hope of getting it back. .Neither Mr Hankins nor Mr Smith was a- member of the management committee.
