MORE WET WICKETS AUSTRALIA-LEICESTER MATCH ABANDONED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright (Received July 21, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 20. The match between Australia and Leicestershire had to be abandoned, owing to persistent rain. The only play yesterday was in the afternoon, on a . soft wicket, and to-day there was none. When play closed yesterday the Australians were all out for 327 runs, and Leicester had three wickets down for 63 in their second strike. Bardsley and Kelleivay, _ tho not-out men, resumed to tho bowling of Shipman and King. The fifth hall from King Bardsley attempted to pull, and was easily caught at short-leg. Bardsley’s score included six 4’s, and his stand with Kelleway added 79 runs. Gregory and Kelleway were together when the second century was hoisted, after 150 minutes’ play. Gregory then played one from King on to his wicket. Minnett and Matthews did not last long, and when Matthew’s was caught Kelleway’s score totalled 68, obtained by sound cutting and driving. After twenty minutes’ delay, caused by rain, the sun shone out, and Kelleway and Whitty werO partnered, and put on 47 runs for the eighth wicket before being separated. Whitty hit two 6’s and three 4’s. Kelleway and Emery added 32 for the nipth wicket, and then Kelleway was taken at shortlog. Ho had batted for 163 minutes, and did not give one chance.
