BOWLING
LYALL BAY CLUB. A progress report has been issued by the Lyall Bay Bowling and Tennis Club showing that tho total receipts (including a loon of J 1309) have been .£313 3s Gd, and the expenditure J 267 12s Bd. Since last meeting the articles and memorandum of association have been printed and the company has been registered. There are 57 members on the roll, and 112 shares of the company have been allotted. Despite the unfavourable weather lately considerable progress has been made with outside work. Fencing, turf banks, ditches, and foundation of the green and the hedge borders have been completed, and the water supply has been laid on tho grounds. The work remaining to bo done is top-dress-ing with four inches of soil. A contract has been let for supply of soil, and with fine weather the should bo ready for sowing within three weeks. The croquet lawn is partially formed and this work will be completed after the green is sown. No arrangements have vet been made for the erection of a pavilion. /
