BROOKLYN CLUB. Twenty-six members of tho Brooklyn Club assembled at To Aro baths on Saturday for their usual weekly run. in view of tho -Provincial Cross-country Championship, at Palmerston next Wednesday . the number were, divided into slow and fast packs, so as to give the club’s representatives for Palmerston a fast spin. Paper was dispensed with, the road being kept to throughout as far as the stranded whale, and thence '.back tho same way. A pratty solid pace was set, the runners showing fairly good form. Thoso to show out most prominently wore G. Murray, F. J. Burrell, and R. J. Ballantyne. The run next Saturday takes place from Mr Harvey’s residence. Hanson street. Members will meet at the Fire Brigade Station, Adelaide road, at 2.30 p.m. ‘

WELLINGTON CLUB,

Tho Wellington Club held their weekly run from the old golf house, Miramar. W; Power and C. Bamberg laid the trail to Lyall Bav, thence along the beach to the stranded whale; from there the paper led up to and along the tops of the hills, coming down to the tramline about Kilbirnie. A run-in of half a mile resultedW. Press 1, T. J. Kerr 2, S. McDowell 3. Next Saturday the steeplechase will be decided at Trentham racecourse.
