CONDITION CRITICAL STOMACH AND BRAIN SERIOUSLf AFFECTED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received July 21, 5.5 p.m.) TOKIO. July 20. Reports issued at midnight from the Palace state that the Mikado is in a critical condition. Ho is suffering from a stomach ailment,'' and his brain is affected. His Majesty was unconscious yesterday. (Received July 22, 0.25 a.m.) TOKIO, July 21. The Mikado’s illness is closely related to a long-standing disease of the kidneys. Ha was delirious and in a high fever yesterday, and is drowsy , to-day. There is still ground for hope. There is a constant stream of callers
at the Palace, and prayers are said in the Buddhist temples and the Russian Cathedral for his Majesty’s recovery. The earlier bulletins wore viewed with misgivings owing to the custom (now less frequent) or postponing the announcement of death.
Prices on the Stock Exchange fell five points yesterday, but rallied at the Hose.
