WON BY LEANDERS IVON EASILY BY NEARLY A LENGTH. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received July 21, 5.5 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, July 20. In the Olympic Eights race the Leander Club defeated Berlin. The crews were level at 000 metres. Thence the Leauder eight led, paddling to the finish, and easily holding their opponents, who spurted. The time was Uniin 10 l-sscc.
Leanders then met New College (Oxford) in the final, winning by a bare length, in Brain 15 7-10seo. Leanders had the advantage of station, and steered a bettor course, winning without much difficulty. Having tried the fast stroke used at Henley with such disappointing results, their present successes arc attributed to reverting to the old stylo of a slower stroke, with more effective concentration in and out of the water. OUTRIGGER FOURS. Ludwigshafen defeated Thames in the final of the Outrigger Fours by two lengths and a naif, in 6min 59 2-sseo. • SINGLE SCULLS.
