CITY COUNCIL BALL
Tho staff of, the city council held its an n uni ball at tho Town Hall last night. The decorations were tho same as those used the previous evening lor the race ball. The committee were Messrs W. O. ilock, N. A. Grant, 11. L. Godber, George Lauchlan, P. McColl, L. NortonTaylor, J. B. Paton, i£. Eoy, C. E. Scaver, J. 11. Stubbs. C. Q. Swinburne, and R. Taft. Mrs McLaren, tho Mayoress, wore, a handsome black satin gown .with black sequin net overdress. Mrs George Shirtcliffe, black lace over black silk with silver .scarf. Mrs Barber, black silk with jet trimming. Mrs J. Puller, white hand-painted charmeuse with overdress of deep mauve niuon. Mrs Sexton, black charmeuse with Indian applique lace. , \ Miss Maud Sexton, black silk, with jewelled embroidery.. ; ; • Mrs Morton, crushed rose ninon over cream lace. Miss Ballinger) emerald green satin charmeuse. Mrs Cohen, black orepe-de-chino with gold embroidered overdress. Mrs Luke, black velvet with sequin garniture.
