DANCE IN ST. PETER’S HALL
Last night the Wellington Harriers held their sixth annual dance in St. Peter’s Hall, Ghuznoe street. Although tho attendance was not so good as usual (owing to other attractions last night), tho dance was a great success. The hall looked very well with streamers of pale blue and white carried from the centre of the ceiling to the walls; between these were hung lines of flags and festoons qf lycopodium, and the front of the stage was half hidden with greenery. Tho stage itself, with an outdoor scene, gay screens, carpets and chairs, looked very festive, and made a cosy sitting-out place. The supper table was decorated, with greenery only. Supper was provided by Scotts. Among the ladies present were Mrs Lamberg in a white silk gown, with silk lace insertion and a green sequin ornament in her hair; Miss Bennett in black velvet, the tunic edged with fringe, and with touches of emerald green; Miss Probyn, pink ninon over silk; Miss Pinckney, white silk; Miss Asher, bright blue charmeuse; Mies Ryan, pale heliotrope ninon over charmeuso of a deeper tone; Miss Henry, white silk with narrow gold fringe trimming; Mrs Lamb, white satin with overdress of sequinned net; Miss Wilton, white silk; Misj.R- Bennett, pale' pink ninon patterned with sweet peas and banded with pink silk, and small roses in her hair; Miss Staff, white silk; Miss Leatham, black velvet with cream lace on the corsage; Miss Bucko ridge, pink with overdress of silver net; ' Miss Gough, pale green ninon over satin of a deeper shade trimmed with silver. The committee consisted of Messrs Bennett, Pinckney,. O’Neil, Pollock, Wilton, and C. Lamberg (secretary). Messrs Bennett and Pollock were M.C. s.
