Heavy rain, with south-easterly winds, strong to gale, has been experienced on the east coast of the South Island southward of Banks Peninsula. Snow has been rcnorted on higher level'!. Rain has fallen in most parts of the Dominion, and cloudy and unsettled weather has prevailed. The. barometer is lowest about Cook Strait, andi the winds have decreased to-day. D. C.
