TIMARU WATEESIDERS RESUME TO-MOEEOW. PRESS ASSOCIATION. TXMAE.U. July 11. Tho wharf workers’ strike over two nonunionists, railway hands, was settled today. Mr .Semple interviewed the stationmaster and the two men and an agreement was arrived at that they withdraw from the Railway Servants’ Society and join the Waterside Union, but to remain as special railway workers to bo sent from wharf to wharf as the stationmaster requires, instead of being amenable to tho union rule that a man must finish the boat started on before going on another. Work will bo resumed to-morrow, as It Is not possible to start to-day owing to the heavy rain. One non-unionist tally cleric will be objected to. and he in turn will have notice given him that ho must join or be put off under the threat that no work be done. The union claim that they have raised wages, benefiting all, and that it is unfair that a few should not contribute to the union funds.
