THE OTAKI SEAT

■ MR FIELD’S CANDIDATURE. Mr W. 11. Field, who is contesting the second ballot with the Socialist candidate, addressed the electors in the Druids’ Hall, Otaki, on Saturday evening. Tnere was a large atteudauce. ’ Mr Field had arranged to speak, in the Town Hall, but through’ some mistake the hall was let for a picture show. The candidate received an enthusiastic hearing, and was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence. Subsequently Mr Field addressed fhe people in the Town Hall at the close of tho picture entertainment and met with a cordial reception. He took the opportunity of thanking the electors of Otaki for placing him on the top of the poll at the first, ballot, and asked for, their renewed Support in the ensuing contest. Mr .Field speaks to-night at Shannon, to-morrow at Foxton, and on Wednesday at Levin. •
