An explosion in tho main mine of the cross mountain system, Knoxville, Kentucky, entombed probably a hundred miners. Throngs of women and children are besieging tho shaft-mouth. Throe of the entombed men escaped by a lateral shaft. Rescue parties were driven out by tho flames without seeing any signs of the victims. Little is expected to be done till the fire is subdued.
