UNIONIST SOCIAL REFORM SCHEME. By Telegraph—Praia Association—Copyright. LONDON, December 8. Colonel Griffith-Bosoawen, Unionist M.P. for Dudley, has introduced in the House of Commons, on behalf of the Unionist Social Reform Committee, a Housing of Working Classes Bill. It is proposed to clear slums, and provide for accommodation of workers in towns and in country districts. The Treasury is asked to grant a million pounds yearly to local authorities in aid of the net cost, the authorities’ operations to be under the supervision of three housing Commissioners, one of whom shall he a medical officer of health.
