The wool sales closed at the highest point of the series. There was good competition from all quarters, especially for merinos. Fifty-seven thousand five hundred bales were sold for the Homo market, St,OQQ for the Continent, and 7000 for the United States, 10,000 being held over. There was a buoyant tone throughout the series. Competition and prices were steadily sustained. The Germans were keen operators, chiefly, for merinos. The Americans particularly operated in crossbreds. There was an excellent representation of merinos. Scoureda were fully 5 per cent, above September rates, best greasy combings at par, and faulties par to 5 per cent, belowGood lots of medium and shabby crossbreds 10 per cent, above, fine crossbreds, also s]ip<|3 and sooureds 5 per cent, above September rates.
