(By “Eileen.") December 7. The Girls' College held their breakmgup concert on Monday evening, and■ { °“ Tuesday evening tho distribution of P took place. Mrs C. E. Mackay (Mayoress) presented the prizes. The large assembly nail was well filled. Amongst those ou tho platform were the members of the college Board of Governors, also Mr v\. Gray, of the Wellington Training College, who gave a very able address on the fiiur ject of examinations. . After the the members of the hoard, Mrs Mackay, and tho statf, were entertained at supper at tho college. , Miss Knapp, 8.A., of tho Girls College, has been granted one year's absence, ana left on Wednesday for Nelson. She leaves later for Europe via Sydney- A number of friends were at the station to bid nei bon voyage. , , . Mr W. Gray, at one tamo head inspector for tho Education Board here, and now of the Training College, Wellington, was in town this week, and was a guest of tno Girls’ College for the prize-giving. Miss Mollison, teacher of cookery for tho public schools and Girls' College, loft ou Thursday for Dunedin to spend tno vacation. ~ , Mise L. Beckinsgale, B.A. (Girls College), left on Thursday for Christchurch to spend tho holidays. « ■ .. Mrs Suisted (Carlton) spending the holidays with her mother, Mrs Cuff, Wellington. > . _ Mrs McKelvie (Rangitikcl) was m town during the week. ■ Mrs and Miss Elgar (Wellington) were hero for the college break-up. Miss Eileen Haslett has been appointed assistant teacher for the Girls' College during the absence of Miss Knapp.
